A judge from Indonesia caused strong reactions from the public after he crudely joked that "rape may be liked by both the attacker and the victim."
Muhamed Daming Sunusi said this during an interview for a position in the judicial council of the Supreme Court, when asked whether rapists should be punished by taking their lives.
"We have to take into account the fact that maybe both the attacker and the victim of the attack enjoy the act of rape. That's why we have to think carefully before we decide to punish the perpetrators of rape with the death penalty," said Sunusi.
Sunusi apologized to the public and said that it was a "bad joke".
