Iran's supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that the readiness of Iran's army is such that it will dispel any "thought of invasion" by its enemies, state television reported today.
During a visit to a military base in the northeast of the country, Khamenei said that Iran will never "back down" from foreign attacks or any "act of aggression".
According to him, Iran's readiness has weakened those countries, among its enemies, that are inciting war and limited their appetite to attack that country.
Israel, which sees a nuclear-armed Iran as a threat to its survival, has not ruled out a military option against Tehran's nuclear facilities.
The international community suspects Iran that its nuclear program is for weapons purposes, while Tehran denies this, claiming that its main goal is the production of electricity and medical isotopes.
