Three Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces bombed the area around Beit Hanun in the north of the Gaza Strip.
This brings the number of Palestinians killed in the last 24 hours to six, a Palestinian official said.
"We found the bodies of three men," Ashraf al-Kudra, spokesman for the Gaza Strip health ministry, told AFP, adding that their deaths occurred during the shelling of the Beit Hanun area by Israeli forces.
Al-Kudra also said that three Palestinians were killed in the Israeli bombardment of the central part of the Gaza Strip last night.
Israel's military said in a statement that Israeli soldiers spotted a "group of terrorists" planting an explosive device near the security ramp between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
According to the statement, Israel believes that the Islamist movement Hamas, which is in power in the Gaza Strip, is responsible for "all terrorist attacks" coming from the area.
