Peru: 112 people were injured in the earthquake

In the 6,3-magnitude earthquake that hit the central coast of Peru last night, 112 people were injured, none of whom were life-threatening, the country's officials announced. The injured suffered broken bones, cuts, concussions, but no one was seriously threatened, Agence France-Presse reported. The head of civil security, Cezar Conate, announced that 16 homes were damaged in the earthquake that struck Peru 11 minutes after midnight. The epicenter of the earthquake was registered at a depth of 39 kilometers, 15 kilometers southeast of the city of Ico, which suffered major damage in August 2007 due to an eight-degree earthquake. That city was also hit by an earthquake in October last year, the AP agency reports.
