Today, the Libyan regime accused NATO of being responsible for the death of 85 civilians in Majer, a village east of Tripoli.
"The village was attacked to allow rebels from the south to enter Zliten," Libyan regime spokesman Musa Ibrahim told reporters.
According to him, among those killed were 33 children, as well as 32 women and 20 men.
The rebels have been trying for more than a week to capture Zliten, a city of 200.000 inhabitants.
Since mid-February, when mass protests against Muammar Gaddafi and his government began, tens of thousands of people have died in Libya.
The international coalition's military intervention in Libya began on March 19, and NATO took command of the operation on March 31.
