During the conflict in Libya, the forces of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi killed at least 10.000 people, 20.000 are missing, and a quarter of the 30.000 injured are in danger, a representative of the Libyan rebels announced in Strasbourg.
"Gaddafi's forces have so far killed 10.000 people, 20.000 are missing, and of the 30.000 injured, 7.000 are in danger," Ali Al Isavi, representative of the Libyan opposition National Transitional Council, told reporters.
He added that the opposition is asking for additional efforts from the international community, in order to protect the lives of civilians during the conflict in Libya, reported France Press.
Isavi spoke to reporters in Luxembourg, along with another Council representative, Mahmoud Jibril - the first time since the European Union as a whole met with representatives of the Libyan opposition Council.
The head of French diplomacy, Alain Gippe, said that this meeting sent a "signal of recognition", although France, Italy and Qatar are the only countries that have so far officially granted diplomatic status to the National Transitional Council.
Žipe, accusing NATO of not doing enough in this regard, said that it is unacceptable that the rebel-held city of Misrata continues to be bombed by Gaddafi's forces.
Meanwhile, the Libyan rebels sent a request for additional weapons to the countries that have so far recognized the National Transitional Council.
