The World Food Program (WFP) has intensified sending aid to the Libyan border for people leaving that country, Beta reports.
WFP has sent more than 1.500 tons of food to Egypt and more than 6.000 tons of food in the form of emergency aid, the statement of that organization based in Rome specifies.
The WFP is "concerned about access to food inside Libya" where "food prices have increased significantly in recent weeks", while 95 percent of shops in some areas such as Misurata and Sirte are closed.
That organization provides 4.000 hot meals a day at the Tunisian airport in Djerba for people fleeing Libya, and 25.000 meals in Shusha.
WFP also plans to provide hot meals to people blocked at the Libyan-Egyptian border, as well as sending 19 tons of lentils and 11 tons of oil to Libya from Cairo and Alexandria in the coming days.
That UN organization provided 39,2 million dollars, or 27,5 million euros, to help the residents of Libya, Egypt and Tunisia in the next three months.
