The first plane with Russian diplomats expelled from the US landed today at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, Agence France-Presse reported on the spot.
The Il-96 plane was carrying 46 Russian diplomats and their families, the TASS agency reported.
A second plane carrying the expelled diplomats should arrive in Moscow later in the day.
American authorities have expelled around 60 Russian diplomats after the outbreak of the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Great Britain.
More than 20 countries have expelled around 150 Russian diplomats in solidarity with Great Britain, which holds Moscow responsible for the nerve agent attack on Skripal. Russia has repeatedly denied responsibility.
