Peru was hit by a strong 7,1 magnitude earthquake today, the US Geological Survey announced.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 27 kilometers north-northeast of Azangar in the south of Peru, at a depth of about 260 kilometers.
The earthquake was registered tonight at 3:50 local time.
World media reports that the earthquake was near the city of Azangara, near Lake Titicaca, in the region of Puno, and that a strong earthquake was felt in the neighboring Latin American countries - Brazil, Bolivia and Chile.
