US President Donald Trump said today that he "doesn't know anything about WikiLeaks", when reporters asked him to comment Today's arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in London.
Trump, who was sitting next to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, said "it's none of my business."
Trump praised WikiLeaks more than 100 times during his 2016 presidential campaign.
In the fall of 2016, WikiLeaks published embarrassing emails stolen from the campaign headquarters of Trump's rival in the presidential election, Hillary Clinton.
The London police arrested Assange today at the Ecuadorian embassy, based on a US extradition warrant and for violating the terms of bail in Great Britain, since Ecuador had previously revoked his asylum status, citing "violation of international conventions and daily protocols" as the reason.
The US accuses Assange of releasing tens of thousands of secret government documents, and this could lead to a court battle to extradite him to the US.
