At least 12 people died and 134 people were injured in the earthquake in the southern Chinese province of Sichuan, this is the new official balance reported by the media this morning.
More than 4.000 people are in temporary housing after the earthquake destroyed or damaged more than 10.000 homes in the city of Jibin, home to about 5,5 million people.
Authorities said more than 100.000 people were "affected by the earthquake".
The earthquake was of magnitude 6, at a depth of 16 kilometers, according to data from the Chinese Seismological Center.
About 60 milder aftershocks were recorded.
The 2008 Sichuan earthquake killed nearly 70.000 people.
That earthquake had a magnitude of 7,9.
