Today, a group of protesters broke into the Hong Kong Parliament building and sprayed graffiti on the walls and over the coat of arms of that autonomous Chinese territory.
Some climbed onto the parliamentary benches, and others climbed to leave messages high on the wall.
The police retreated to avoid clashes.
Demonstrators broke the metal gate to enter the building and then took down and broke pictures of the assembly leadership.
At the same time, tens of thousands of people protested in that city demanding more democracy on the 22nd anniversary of the British surrender of Hong Kong, a former British colony, to China.
People on the streets claim that the Hong Kong government is not responding to their demands for the full withdrawal of the controversial extradition law and the resignation of Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam.
