The House of Representatives of the Congress rejected the proposal to impeach the President of the United States of America (USA) Donald Trump due to insults against several Democratic congresswomen of immigrant origin.
The impeachment motion was defeated by a vote of 332 to 95, as all Republicans voted against the impeachment motion initiated by Texas Democratic Congressman Al Green.
Democrats voted with 137 votes "against" and 95 votes "for" in favor of the proposal to impeach Trump, AP reported.
As stated, the Democrat, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, prevented the "stampede" of the Democrats against Trump before additional evidence appeared that could win over those who are skeptical of Trump's removal.
"You see the overwhelming majority vote against impeachment and that's the end of it," Trump told reporters as he arrived in North Carolina for a rally.
He called the effort "the funniest project he's ever been a part of."
Texas Democratic Congressman Al Green has submitted a request to Congress to vote on a resolution to impeach Trump over his insults against several Democratic congresswomen of immigrant origin.
In the request, Green stated that Trump made "racist insults" at the expense of Democratic representatives of color in Congress, as well as that Trump is not fit to be the president of the country.
