Extremists in Eastern Ghouta are planning to carry out a chemical attack tomorrow and to accuse the Syrian government forces for it, according to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria, Faizal Mehdad.
"We have received information that the extremists in Eastern Ghouta are planning to carry out a chemical attack in the area between Misraba and Bitsawa. The extremists of the Tahrir al-Sham group are planning to kill several children, and we expect that this "performance" could take place on March 11 Mehdad said.
Damascus, he added, has never rejected investigations by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), reports Tass.
"Syria keeps the door open for international investigative organizations. We have received ten requests from various investigative committees and we have not rejected any, we have not closed any part of Syria, but they will not conduct investigations - that is the problem," said Mehdad.
According to him, the commission representing the OPCW would not believe the results of the investigation conducted by the Syrian authorities on chemical weapons.
Mehdad added that the organization's experts did not come to Syria to check the information.
