Pakistani police said 22 passengers were killed and 15 injured when the bus crashed into a hill after its brakes failed.
The accident happened today in the northwest of the country, on the way to Rawalpindi.
The rescue operation was hampered by the difficult-to-access mountainous terrain and the lack of necessary equipment and resources, the police said.
Such road accidents are common in Pakistan, where drivers generally do not follow traffic regulations and safety standards on bad roads.
Last month, a bus fell off a mountain road into a river due to excessive speed, killing 24 passengers.
