US President Donald Trump today again threatened to destroy the Turkish economy, after effectively giving Turkey a free hand to deal with the Kurds in northern Syria.
"As I have said before, if Turkey does anything that I, in my vast and unsurpassed wisdom, deem illegal, I will utterly destroy and destroy the Turkish economy (I have already done it)," Trump said on Twitter.
According to him, Turks, Europeans and others must take care of captured jihadists and their families.
"The US has done more than anyone could have expected, including capturing 100 percent of the Islamic State's caliphate. Now is the time for others in the region, some very wealthy, to protect their own territory," the US president wrote.
