Seven people were killed today in two attacks by suicide bombers in Afghanistan, the local authorities announced.
The first attack on a convoy carrying Afghan intelligence officials in eastern Nangarhar province killed five people, including a child, a spokesman for the province's governor said.
The powerful explosion injured 21 people, including six security personnel.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
A few hours later, a second explosion occurred at a checkpoint at the entrance to Jalalabad, killing two security personnel.
Six people were wounded then.
Jalalabad is the administrative center of Nangarhar province, which is located near the border with Pakistan.
In recent years, more and more violence has been happening in Nangarhar because both the Taliban and members of the Islamic State are active there.
