Iran's Minister of Information and Communication Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jaromi said today that the killing of the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is not a big deal.
"No big deal! You just killed your own creature," he tweeted in response to announcement by US President Donald Trump that al-Baghdadi has been killed.
Iran has often accused the US of creating the Islamic State group, without providing evidence.
The editor-in-chief of Iran's Javan newspaper, Abdollah Ganji, previously said that the killing of al-Baghdadi would be a key issue in next year's US presidential election.
"Why are they killing themselves before the American presidential election," he said.
