The body of Abu Bakr El Baghdadi was buried in the sea, as was the case after the killing of the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, ABC reported.
US Army Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley said the US has video footage and photographs of the body of al-Baghdadi, the leader of the so-called Islamic State, who was killed in a military operation in Syria.
"However, we will not be releasing them at this time," Milli said.
Mili also pointed out that two people were arrested in the military operation during which El Baghdadi was killed, and that they are in a safe location, in American custody.
The body of al-Baghdadi was buried at sea, as was the case after the killing of the leader of al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, ABC reported, citing the claims of three officials.
The US wanted to avoid the grave of al-Baghdadi on land becoming a shrine for supporters of the Islamic State.
At the same time, an unnamed official of the State Department said that after the killing of al-Baghdadi, another man of the Islamic State, Abu al-Hasan al-Muhajir, was also killed.
This happened in a joint operation by Kurdish and American troops, also in the north of Syria.
