The radical Palestinian group Islamic Jihad announced that another of its commanders, Khaled Faraj, was killed in today's Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip.
The report states that Faraž (38) was killed in an airstrike not far from a farm, according to agencies.
Palestinian groups and the Israeli army have been exchanging fire for the past two days, after one of the commanders of the Islamic Jihad, Baha Abu al-Ata, was killed in an attack on the Gaza Strip.
The AP agency reports that two members of the Islamic Jihad were killed in today's Israeli attacks, bringing the number of Palestinians killed in the heaviest wave of fighting in recent months to 12.
The Israeli army announced that after the death of Baha Abu al-Ata, more than 250 rockets were fired at Israeli communities along the Gaza Strip.
Schools in those areas are still closed, and restrictions on public gatherings are in effect.
