Jihadists of the Islamic State today claimed responsibility for Wednesday's attack on a military camp in Niger, in which 71 soldiers were killed, according to the American portal specialized in Islamist sites (SITE).
"Soldiers of the caliphate attacked a military base (in Niger)... the Mujahideen held it under control for several hours," the statement said, adding that "100 people" were killed in the attack.
Niger's Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that 71 soldiers were killed, 12 were wounded and some were missing in an attack by jihadists on a military base near the border with Mali.
