A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5,2 hit the city of Neijiang in the Chinese province of Sichuan, Chinese media announced. So far, nine people have been injured, reports Tanjug.
As reported by the "CGTN" portal, the earthquake was registered at 8.14:XNUMX a.m. local time. Four injured people are in critical condition, local authorities said.
Due to the earthquake, 20 houses collapsed, while 11.968 households were left without electricity.
More than 2.000 rescuers, including members of the police, emergency services, and firefighters, are participating in the rescue operation.
Seismologists state that it is unlikely that a stronger earthquake will hit this region in the coming days.
The earthquake was registered at a depth of 14 kilometers.
