US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Russia and China have "blood on their hands" after they vetoed the United Nations Security Council resolution on the delivery of aid to Syria.
"The veto placed yesterday by the Russian Federation and China on the Security Council resolution, which allows humanitarian aid to reach millions of Syrians, is shameful," Pompeo said in a statement.
Pompeo told Russia and China "you have blood on your hands", reports Reuters.
In the UN Security Council, Russia and China vetoed the proposal for a resolution that provided for the delivery of humanitarian aid from Turkey and Iraq to Syria.
As Reuters reported last night, the resolution, proposed by Belgium, Kuwait and Germany, provided for the delivery of aid in the next 12 months through two points in Turkey and one in Iraq.
Russia, however, was ready to approve two crossings in Turkey for six months and proposed its own resolution, reports Tanjug.
