Grandi: The world is threatened by a wave of refugees due to climate change

The world must prepare for a wave of refugees because there is a possibility that several million people will flee their homes due to the impact of climate change, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi warned today.

Grandi told Reuters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos that a UN ruling handed down earlier this week meant countries that opened their borders must treat those fleeing climate change as refugees.
