After the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, the United States took actions that created and spread fear, instead of providing help, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The US is the first country to propose a partial withdrawal of staff from its embassy, and the first to impose travel restrictions on Chinese tourists, ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said.
"Everything they did was just creating and spreading fear, which is a bad example," Chunjingova pointed out during a conversation with media representatives, reports RTS.
He adds that China hopes that countries will react and make decisions that are reasonable, calm and in accordance with science.
On January 28, the US began evacuating its citizens from Wuhan, where the coronavirus is believed to have first appeared.
On January 30, the World Health Organization declared a global emergency due to the coronavirus.
"It is precisely developed countries like the US with great capabilities and resources to prevent the epidemic that have taken the lead in imposing excessive restrictions, contrary to the recommendations of the World Health Organization," Chunjingova said.

At the meeting with his deputies, Mishustin also said that the situation with the coronavirus in Russia is under control and that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the disease.
"A team has been formed for quick response and prevention of the spread of the disease in our country," he said, adding that the coronavirus has been added to the list of very dangerous diseases.
"This will allow us to deport foreigners if they are found to have a disease and introduce special restrictions such as isolation and quarantine," Mishustin said.
