At least 17 people died and 31 were injured today in two explosions in fireworks production workshops in the Mexican city of Tultepec, officials announced.
Among the dead were four firefighters and two policemen who went to the scene of the accident after the first explosion, and were later killed in the second.
Many residents of Tultepec make a living by making and selling fireworks, so explosions are common.
An explosion in a workshop in June killed seven people and injured eight others. More than a dozen people died in December 2016 in chain explosions at an open-air market where fireworks were sold.
