Gates: Vaccine in 18 months, money is not a problem

The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, says that it will probably take 19 months to develop a vaccine against Covid-18, but that money should not be a problem for its development.

It usually takes five or six years to develop a vaccine, Gates told the BBC, but added that due to the speed of the global pandemic, the process must be faster.

He announced that money will not be an obstacle for the vaccine and revealed that he is happy to continue donating funds, the Daily Mail reports.

"We are doing everything we can. We will write checks faster than governments can. Money should not be a constraint," he said.

He notes, however, that there will be fewer safety tests than usual in order to get the vaccine as soon as possible, reports Tanjug.

"Governments will have to decide," he added.
