NBA coach Gregg Popovich is known to have no hair on his tongue. Because of this, no one was surprised when San Antonio's coach had a fiery response when asked why it was important for the league to celebrate Black History Month.
"I think it's pretty obvious. Our league is full of dark-skinned guys," Popovich said, according to CNN, "It's pretty simple to respect and understand that. How could you ignore that? More importantly, we live in a racist country that hasn't figured it out yet. It's always important to draw attention to it, even if some people get angry. The point is that you have to keep the issue in front of everyone's noses and understand that it's still not being taken care of enough and we still have a lot of work to do."
CNN reminds that this is not the first time that Popovich talks about racism and politics, especially about US President Donald Trump.
