In the confrontation in Brooklyn, one policeman was stabbed in the neck, two policemen have gunshot wounds on their arms, while another man was shot, the New York Police Department announced.
Police officers were taken to the hospital last night after the conflict with wounds that the administration says are not life-threatening, while the condition of the man who was shot was not immediately known.
The conflict took place shortly before midnight, during the curfew that has recently been in effect in the US and lasts from eight o'clock in the evening to calm the riots due to the death of George Floyd.
The details of the conflict are also not yet known.
Protests over police brutality have been taking place on the streets of New York for days, and the shooting is just a block away from where protesters and police clashed for hours over the weekend in which a police car was burned and batons were used in the fight.
A resident of that neighborhood, however, said that there were no protests in the area at the time of the shooting, and that it was unclear whether the shooting was related to the riots.
