A court in Kuala Lumpur today found former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak guilty of corruption.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering and abuse of office.
The case against Razak, who served from 2009 to 2018, is seen as a test of Malaysia's fight against corruption.
Razak faces a prison sentence of several dozen years.
He is charged with several counts of the indictment, and today's verdict refers to the embezzlement of 10 million dollars.
Razak claims that he was not responsible for the transfer of money intended for the development fund to his private accounts and that he was ill-advised, especially by the fugitive adviser and financier Joe Law.
The former prime minister announced an appeal against the verdict.
