Iran has accused US President Donald Trump and other world officials of crossing all boundaries in international relations by expressing support for anti-government protests in that country.
At the same time, Iran complained to the Security Council and UN Secretary General António Guterres about US interference in its internal affairs.
In a letter published yesterday, Iran's representative at the UN, Golamali Koshru, said that the current US administration crossed all borders and violated the rules and principles of international law that guide civilized behavior in international relations.
"In recent days, the US administration led by the US president has increased its interventions in Iran's internal affairs in a grotesque manner under the pretext of supporting sporadic demonstrations," Koshru said.
He assessed that US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence personally stirred up the problems.
"The president and vice president of the US have encouraged Iranians to engage in wrongdoing through their numerous tweets," the Iranian ambassador's letter states.
The USA did not immediately respond to the letter, according to the AP agency.
Iran's elite Republican Guard has declared an end to anti-government protests in the country, during which 21 people lost their lives and hundreds were arrested, while mass demonstrations in support of the government were held across the country.
In the past few days, Trump published a series of tweets in which he supported the anti-government protests and stated that it was time for change in Iran.
