The World Economic Forum will be held in Singapore in May 2021 and not in Davos, as has been the custom so far, the organizers announced today citing the sanitary situation as the reason. The organizers have already postponed the annual gathering to May instead of January. In the end, it was decided not to be in Switzerland. Only once before has the meeting been held outside of Switzerland. The forum was held in New York in 2002 as a sign of solidarity after the September 11 terrorist attacks. The organizers expressed the hope that the forum will return to Davos in 2022, where measures against the coronavirus epidemic are now in force.
