Future US Vice President Kamala Harris received the first dose of Moderna's coronavirus vaccine in Washington today and called on Americans to get vaccinated.
"I want to encourage everyone to get vaccinated. It's relatively painless. It goes very quickly and it's safe," said Kamala Harris, who received the vaccine in front of the cameras.
The future vice president of the USA was vaccinated at a center in a Washington district where a large number of African Americans live.
The US started a vaccination campaign in mid-December.
Future President Joseph Biden and outgoing Vice President Mike Pence also got vaccinated on camera to encourage citizens to get the coronavirus vaccine.
"I trust the scientists. And the scientists are the ones who created and approved this vaccine," Harris said.
Biden and Harriso will officially take office on January 20, and one of their priorities will be the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
