US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov agreed to continue diplomatic efforts against North Korea's nuclear program.
According to State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, they emphasized in the telephone conversation that neither Washington nor Moscow accepts Pyongyang as a nuclear power.
The interlocutors also referred to the increase in violence in the east of Ukraine, and in this regard, Tillerson requested that Russia "lower the level of violence", Nauert said, according to Reuters.
According to her, Tillerson and Lavrov also discussed the crisis in Syria.
