The devastating earthquake in Indonesia killed at least 78 people, the authorities announced a new death toll after more bodies were pulled from the ruins today.
A strong earthquake of magnitude 6,2 struck the island of Sulawesi on Friday, and the city of Mamudju and the neighboring area of Madjena were the hardest hit.
67 people died in the city of Mamudža, and 11 in the Madžena area, the authorities said.
In the areas affected by the earthquake, the power supply has been improved, and broken telephone lines are being restored.
Thousands of people were left homeless, and more than 800 people were injured, most of them seriously.
More than 27.800 people were transferred to shelters, mostly improvised, while a small number of them were placed in tents.
They state that they do not have enough food, blankets and other necessities, which the services deliver to the affected areas.
At least 1.150 buildings were damaged in the Madžena area.
