At least 18 people were killed today in the explosion of several mines in the Syrian province of Hama, Syrian state television reported.
The television added that three people were injured in the explosion of two mines, "laid by terrorist groups."
The Syrian state news agency Sana reported that all the victims were civilians, while the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the victims were most likely farmers.
According to the UN, more than ten million people in Syria live in areas where mines have been laid.
At least 387.000 people have died in Syria since the war began in March 2011.
Several million people have left their homes.
