At least 20 people were injured today in a suicide attack in a Roman Catholic church on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, the authorities announced today.
The attack by two kamikazes was carried out during Mass on Flower Day, which is celebrated on the Sunday before Easter.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo immediately condemned the attack in the Muslim-majority country, but where churches have previously been targeted by extremists.
"Terrorism is a crime against humanity," said Widodo, who called for a fight against terrorism and radicalism that are contrary to religious values.
Police said one of the suicide bombers was a supporter of Islamic State jihadists and was responsible for attacks on churches in the Philippines.
