At least seven people died and 11 are missing when a ferry sank in rough seas off the coast of Bali, Indonesian authorities announced this morning.
Low visibility and high waves make the rescue operation difficult.
There were 57 passengers and crew members on the ferry at the time of the accident.
The ship sank on Tuesday evening near the port of Gilimanuk, in the west of Bali. He sailed from the neighboring island of Java.
Several dozen people survived the shipwreck. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
