The Americans shot down a suspicious drone over their embassy in Baghdad last night, according to sources close to the Iraqi security forces.
The incident happened a few hours after rockets were fired at a base in western Iraq where American soldiers are stationed.
There were no victims in that attack.
Iraqi security sources stated this morning that the American C-RAM defense system shot down a suspicious drone during the night.
There are about 2.500 American soldiers in Iraq as part of the international coalition against the jihadists.
Since the arrival of Joseph Biden in the White House, 47 attacks have been carried out on Iraqi logistics convoys of the international military coalition or on bases where American soldiers are stationed.
US forces attributed the attacks to pro-Iranian groups.
