New toll: 20 dead in building collapse in Nigeria, many workers still trapped under rubble

Twenty people lost their lives in the collapse of a building under construction in Lagos, Nigeria, rescue services reported today a new toll 24 hours after the accident, but many workers are still trapped under the rubble.

A 21-storey building under construction in the upmarket Ikoji area of ​​Lagos collapsed yesterday.

A total of nine workers were rescued from the rubble, an official of the National Emergency Management Agency said.
