Twenty people lost their lives in the collapse of a building under construction in Lagos, Nigeria, rescue services reported today a new toll 24 hours after the accident, but many workers are still trapped under the rubble.
A 21-storey building under construction in the upmarket Ikoji area of Lagos collapsed yesterday.
A total of nine workers were rescued from the rubble, an official of the National Emergency Management Agency said.
He said that five more bodies were recovered today, bringing the total number of dead to 20.
