Ukraine "can win" this war "if it has the right equipment and the right support", said the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin, reports Agence France-Presse.
He stated this in Poland after returning from Kiev. He stayed in the capital of Ukraine with United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, where they met with Volodymyr Zelensky.
Reuters reports that Blinken pointed out that "Russia is failing in its war goals, while the situation with Ukraine is different."
"As far as Russia's war goals are concerned, they are not successful, and Ukraine has already succeeded," said Blinken at a briefing in Poland.
The United States of America used the opportunity for the first official visit to Ukraine since the Russian invasion, and the gradual return of American diplomats to the country and the appointment of a new ambassador were also announced.
They also pledged new aid worth $713 million to Zelenskiy's government and countries in the region where the Russian invasion has raised fears of further aggression by Moscow, Reuters concludes.
