At least five people were killed when a ten-story building collapsed in the southwestern Iranian city of Abadan.
There are fears that the number of victims could be much higher, as it is believed that more than 80 people are still trapped under the ruins of the building that was under construction, reports AP.
Abadan regional governor Ehsun Abaspur told state television that 27 people were injured in the collapse, some of them in critical condition.
The report did not specify the reason for the collapse, which occurred during a sandstorm, but the owner of the building and the project manager of the construction company were arrested.
