In the US, two children have contracted monkeypox, US health officials announced.
One child fell ill in California, and another child who is not a US resident was tested in Washington, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The patients are receiving treatment and their condition is described as good.
The children are believed to have been infected in their homes.
