At least 25 people were killed and 20 injured when a bus plunged into a gorge in northern India, local officials said today.
There were 45 to 50 people in the bus at the time of the accident. The travelers were returning from a wedding celebration.
The accident was in Pauri district of Uttarakhand state.
Indian roads are among the most dangerous in the world, and around 110.000 people lose their lives in accidents in that country every year.
The causes are driver negligence, poor road quality, lack of vehicle maintenance and overcrowding of vehicles with passengers.
