An earthquake with a magnitude of 6,2 on the Richter scale hit the Gulf of California region in Mexico, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said, as reported by Reuters.
The earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, the USGS added.
Earlier, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center announced that the earthquake measured 5,8 on the Richter scale, adding that its epicenter was 56 kilometers south of the Baia de Kino region.
For now, there is no information about possible injured persons or material damage.
