Several thousand people have come forward to adopt a baby girl who was born under the rubble of a building in northwestern Syria after the catastrophic earthquake that struck that country and Turkey on Monday.
At the time of her rescue, the little girl Aya (miracle in Arabic) was still attached to her mother by the umbilical cord.
Her mother, father, three sisters and brother unfortunately lost their lives in the earthquake that hit the city of Jindairis.
Videos of Aja's rescue went viral on social media, after which many expressed their desire to adopt her.
"I am ready to take care of and adopt this child... If I get legal permission to do so," said a TV presenter from a Kuwaiti television station, BBC reports, and N1 Croatia reports.

The director of the hospital where the girl is being kept, Kalid Atiah, said he has received dozens of calls from people all over the world who want to adopt Aya.
"I will not allow anyone to adopt her now. Until her extended family comes back I will treat her as one of my children," said Atiah.
The newborn's family are refugees from Syria's unstable province of Deir ez-Zour, in eastern Syria.
"I would like to adopt her and give her a decent life," one person wrote on social media, reports the BBC.
In any case, Aja will be in the hospital until further notice.
"She arrived on Monday in a very serious condition, she was cold and barely breathing. If they hadn't found her in time, she would have died in an hour," said Hani Maruf, the pediatrician who took care of her.
Most importantly, Aja is now in a stable condition.
