Canada has blocked the Chinese social media app TikTok on the devices of government employees.
As they stated, that application represents an "unacceptable" risk to privacy and security.
"Canada has disabled federal employees from downloading the application," the Canadian finance ministry said in a statement.
TikTok said it was disappointed by Canada's decision, which it said was made "without citing any specific security concerns."
The Chinese company added that it had not been contacted by Canadian authorities to "discuss any issues before making a decision."
The European Commission passed a similar ban last week.
