Storm Irma claimed at least three lives in the US state of Georgia and one person died in South Carolina, bringing the total number of storm victims in the US to 10. Although it weakened from a Category 800 hurricane when it reached the US coast to tropical storm status as it moved from Florida to Georgia, Irma continues to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall. The coasts of Georgia are flooded, trees are falling on houses under gusts of wind, and the airport in Atlanta, the busiest in the world, has canceled about 1,5 flights. Almost 45.000 million people were left without power in Georgia, and about 540.000 in Alabama. In Savannah and other parts of the coastal area in Georgia, the evacuation of about 37 people was ordered. One man died when he climbed onto a roof during the storm, another man was killed when a tree fell on his home, and a woman was killed when a tree fell on her car. The first victim in South Carolina was a man who died in front of his home. In Florida, six people were previously killed in the storm, and in the Caribbean islands, including Cuba, at least XNUMX people died.
