US President Joseph Biden on Tuesday lifted the requirement that most foreign citizens coming to the United States (USA) must be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Biden also ended mandatory vaccinations for government employees and contract workers for the federal government.
Biden's order goes into effect one minute after midnight on May 12, highlighting the public health emergency imposed due to the covid pandemic.
The decree on mandatory vaccination of about 3,5 million federal government employees, passed in September 2021, has not been implemented for more than a year due to a series of court rulings.
Last week, the White House announced a plan to lift the covid restrictions.
