A former associate of Rudy Giuliani is suing him for sexual harassment and other wrongdoing, accusing the former personal lawyer of Donald Trump of hiring her to fulfill his desire for sexual relations, Voice of America reports.
In a civil lawsuit filed in Manhattan District Court in New York, Noelle Dunphy alleged that Giuliani began abusing her almost as soon as he hired her in January 2021 as director of business development and that he made it clear to her that satisfying his sexual needs "absolutely necessary" for her job.
Dunphy also alleged that Giuliani had "alcohol-fueled tantrums during which he made sexist, racist and anti-Semitic outbursts" that made the work environment intolerable and that he fired her in January 2021 without paying her the wages she had agreed to. to delay her.
"Giuliani portrayed himself as a generous employer and a hero. He was neither. In this case, Ms. Dunphy is seeking justice from a man who thought his power and connections would make him untouchable," the lawsuit states.
Giuliani's public relations officer did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
The lawsuit seeks $10 million in damages from Giuliani and three of his companies.
Giuliani, 78, is also a former mayor of New York and Time magazine's "2001 Person of the Year" for his response to the September 11 attacks.
According to the lawsuit, Giuliani promised to pay Dunphy $XNUMX million a year and to represent her for free in her domestic violence lawsuits, but said the money should wait and that she should hide the fact that she was employed by him because it could bring problems to his difficult divorce case.
Dunphy says she felt "strong pressure" to agree to Giuliani's request so she wouldn't lose money or legal aid.
The lawsuit also cites a case in which Giuliani allegedly forced her to perform oral sex against her will.
In January, in connection with this case, Dunphy requested that Giuliani be summoned to court, asking for $3 million.
